Mark-Anthony Turnage is one of the most admired and widely-performed composers of his generation.
His works skilfully blend classical and jazz idioms, modernism and tradition. He has composed under residencies/associations with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Jon Carnac has played principal clarinet with all of London’s major symphony orchestras, and has travelled the world and recorded with conductors including Sir Georg Solti, Bernard Haitink and Sir Simon Rattle.
Jon’s playing has been featured on over 100 Film Soundtracks including scores by John Williams, James Horner, Hans Zimmer and Jerry Goldsmith. He has also appeared on albums with Sting, Peter Gabriel, Mark Knopfler, Gregory Porter, Robbie Williams and Stevie Wonder. In 2021 Jon gave the world première of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Clarinet Concertino.
Junyan Chen’s recent concerto engagements include the Ravel G major with the Brighton Philharmonic and Rachmaninov 4 with Edward Gardner and the RAM Symphony Orchestra. She recently worked closely with Hans Abrahamsen for a performance of his piano concerto with conductor Franck Ollu and the Manson Ensemble.
