British bass Matthew Rose studied at the Curtis Institute of Music before becoming a member of the Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. In 2006 Matthew made an acclaimed debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Bottom in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream – for which he received the John Christie Award. Matthew’s international career has seen him enjoy a close relationship with the Metropolitan Opera, for whom he gave his 100th performance in 2022. For The Met, Matthew has sung Filippo II and Monk Don Carlos, Raimondo Lucia di Lammermoor, Claudio Agrippina, Masetto and Leporello Don Giovanni, Oroveso Norma, Ashby La Fanciulla del West, Talbot Maria Stuarda, Bottom A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Night Watchman Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Frère Laurent Roméo et Juliette and Colline La bohème.

Plans for the 23/24 season include his house and role debut as Fasolt Das Rheingold for Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin cond. Philip Jordan, Baron Ochs Der Rosenkavalier for Sante Fe Opera cond. Karina Canellakis, for Grand Théâtre de Genève cond. Jonathan Nott and for the Lithuanian National Opera cond. Ričardas Šumila, as well as Cadmus/Somnus Semele for Blackheath Halls. On the concert platform, Matthew sings the Glagolitic Mass with the Montréal Symphony Orchestra cond. Rafael Payare, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Berlin Philharmonic cond. Jakub Hrůša, Christus St John Passion with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra cond. Trevor Pinnock, as well as Beethoven Symphony No. 9 with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France cond. Mikko Franck and with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra cond. Nicholas Collon. Future performances include returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper and Grange Park Opera and a house debut at Opera Wrocławska.

Anna Tilbrook is one of Britain’s most exciting pianists, with a considerable reputation in song recitals and chamber music. She made her debut at the Wigmore Hall in 1999 and has since become a regular performer at Europe’s major concert halls and festivals.

Anna has collaborated with many leading singers and instrumentalists including James Gilchrist, Lucy Crowe, Mary Bevan, Sophie Bevan, Barbara Hannigan, Willard White, Ashley Riches, Sir John Tomlinson, Chris Maltman, Ian Bostridge, Barbara Bonney, Christine Rice, Iestyn Davies, Natalie Clein, Guy Johnston, Michael Collins, Nick Daniel, Philip Dukes, Louisa Tuck, Jack Liebeck, Chloe Hanslip and Jess Gillam. For Welsh National Opera she has accompanied Angela Gheorghiu, Jose Carreras and Bryn Terfel in televised concerts.

In 2023 Anna was invited to sit on the jury for the Cardiff Singer of the World Song Prize. She is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
