Concert
The award-winning Brook Street Band is delighted to perform a sunset concert including some of Bach and Handel’s most beautiful chamber music for baroque flute, recorder, violin, cello, and harpsichord at The Pines Calyx, as part of its weekend of masterclasses and chamber music.
The Band has chosen the peaceful, retreat-like, and stunning setting of St. Margaret’s Bay located on the beautiful Kent coast where we can all enjoy the stimulating and creative environment at Pines Calyx, an award-winning eco building, set in peaceful gardens with sea views. This will be the first baroque music concert at this venue, which is very much looking forward to this new venture.
The baroque concert is part of the Band’s “Hooray for Handel” tour, celebrating the music of the great George Frideric Handel (1685-1759), performing in Band-members’ communities in the Southeast & East Anglia. Flautist Lisete da Silva Bull lives locally in Kent, and as part of this project The Brook Street Band also performs for local schoolchildren the previous day. Generous funding from the Continuo Foundation has enabled these performances to take place, making baroque music accessible to the local community. Tickets for the Pines Calyx concert are competitively priced, with free entry for Under 18s.
