Sacconi ‘Out of Time’ Film

Against the dramatic backdrop of a derelict Victorian theatre, the Sacconi Quartet perform a moving rendition of Jonathan Dove’s ‘Out of Time’. The film was produced by Joe Morgan at TMRW CO, and shot in the Leas Pavilion, Folkestone, a magnificent but forgotten and derelict 1902 theatre that sits atop the cliffs. This project was part of a successful campaign to save the building and restore it to its former glory. Before the campaign started, it was earmarked for development into a health club to service new apartments. The campaign has resulted in the building receiving Heritage status (Grade II Listed) and requires the developers to restore and renovate the venue as a community arts space.

The full performance is now available to buy and stream from Amazon Prime Video! All profits from sales will go to Hands Up Foundation, funding health and education programmes in Syria and Lebanon, a cause close to the quartet’s heart, following their commission of ‘In Damascus’ from Jonathan Dove in 2016.

This project was made possible with the help of Sounds Folkestone, a collective portal for all classical music activity in the town, established in September 2020.
