Young Strings Orchestra – Rehearsal Blog 8/2/22
Tuesday 8th February 2022: First rehearsal at last!
Two weeks later than planned (blame Covid), Folkestone Young Strings Orchestra had their first rehearsal. In one hour, the players worked on an arrangement of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy from his famous 9th Symphony. They also had a first go at an arrangement of the first movement of Vivaldi’s Spring concerto. Great sight-reading already from everyone. Sadly, we didn’t have any cellos nor double basses but Ben, leader of the Sacconi Quartet who attended the first rehearsal, did a great job at reading the bass clef. He can be an honorary cello player from now on 🙂 Very much looking forward to our next rehearsal. We need more players in the orchestra, so keep spreading the good word that Folkestone Young Strings Orchestra rehearses every Tuesday at 4.15pm! See you on the 22nd Feb.
